House for sale in Feleag - 35'000 Euro

The picturesque village Feleag, part of the Vanatori commune, shelters in the foothills on the border between the counties of Mures and Harghita. It benefits from being a few kilometres away from the main road meaning noise pollution from passing traffic is virtually non-existent. This house is located towards the end of the village meaning that is has a larger courtyard and more land than the typical Saxon smallholding. The house itself has been quite recently renovated, fortunately in a very sympathetic way, maintaining many classically country features. It has two bathrooms, a large kitchen with a traditional wood oven for baking bread or pies, hardwood floors and large wooden doors (the traditional countryside internal doors are generally wider than those we are used to today), and one of the rooms still has its terracotta wood burning stove for heating. Underneath the house is a large cellar with exposed brickwork and beams.

The house has a large exterior area comprising a courtyard and garden, which has been planted out with flower beds and a barbecue area. There is a large wooden gate into the courtyard from the main road allowing you to park your car inside the grounds. At the end of the garden is a tradition barn with a large hay loft and separate shed for keeping animals, ideal should you wish to run the property as a smallholding. Around the back of the house is an east-facing wooden veranda where you can enjoy the sunrise over breakfast or shelter from the sun in the evenings. Beyond the barn at the back of the courtyard is more land for growing vegetables, some grape vines, and a small orchard.

This property would make an ideal family home, particular for those wishing to live in the area full-time and run the property as a self-sufficient smallholding. There is plenty of land that could be turned over to vegetable gardening and lots of enclosed courtyard space for free-ranging poultry. Best of all, the fact that it has been recently renovated and comes fully furnished means that you could move in straight away and live there (even if you might wish to adjust some of the decor to suit your own tastes). It has its own water supply and septic tank, double glazed windows and insulated walls. The electrical systems has been recently modernized. The house would also be ideal as a holiday rental.

Postive points: Lots of land, quiet village, ready to live in, very good price, fully furnished
Negative points: Few local amenities
